COVID-19 Vaccine Booster Update

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Protection, studies show that after getting vaccinated against COVID-19, protection against the virus may decrease over time and be less able to protect against the Delta variant.

Harrison County Community Hospital is now offering Moderna and Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 booster vaccines. Those eligible are:

  • 65 years and older
  • Age 18+ who live in a long-term care setting
  • Age 18+ who have underlying medical conditions
  • Age 18+ who work in high-risk settings
  • Age 18+ who live in high-risk settings


Those receiving the Moderna booster must wait six months following their 2nd dose to be eligible for the booster. Johnson & Johnson recipients must wait two months following their initial dose to qualify for the booster shot.

HCCH and Harrison Co. Health Department will combine efforts to offer all brands of vaccine, Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson, during the HCCH Health Fair on Saturday, November 6th, from 6 AM – 10 AM.
