Hospital Auxiliary Donates Communication Boards

Harrison County Community Hospital Auxiliary volunteers recently donated 19 custom-designed patient communication boards for use in the hospital’s inpatient rooms.

The donation, made at the group’s meeting on July 21, was made possible by profits from the Auxiliary Gift Shop in the hospital lobby.

The dry-erase boards provide space for the patient care team to write information such as names of staff members caring for the patient, dietary restrictions, rehabilitation therapy schedule, a pain scale and the patient’s questions for the physician.

“Hospital staff, patients and their families will all benefit from this generous donation,” said Robin Davidson, the hospital’s chief nursing officer. “We are grateful that our Auxiliary members are dedicated to helping us take outstanding care of our patients.”

The HCCH Auxiliary has nearly 100 members, and new members are always welcome to attend lunch meetings at the hospital on the third Friday of each month.
