Outpatient surgery is one of Harrison County Community Hospital's newest services. Truman Mark Vasko, M.D., a general surgeon with 27 years of operating room experience, performs a variety of procedures at the hospital in Bethany, including the following:
- Hernia repairs
- Skin cancer and lesion removals
- Minimally invasive gallbladder removal
Dr. Vasko’s patient consultations before and after surgery are at his office at Bethany Medical Clinic, 3202 Miller Street.
Surgeries will occur in the hospital’s operating room, which includes an advanced anesthesia delivery and monitoring system, new laparoscopic equipment and instrumentation, an LED surgical lighting system, and state-of-the-art fluoroscopic equipment.
Dr. Vasko graduated from the Medical College of Georgia and completed his general surgery residency at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.
