Happy Hospital Week, 2025!
As we welcome Hospital Week 2025, we do so with deep gratitude and pride in the incredible work happening every day at Harrison County Community Hospital. This week is more than a celebration—it’s a time to reflect on our shared journey, honor the trust of our patients, and recognize the dedication of every individual who makes HCCH a place of healing and hope.
To Our Patients and Families:
Thank you for placing your trust in us. Your strength and resilience inspire everything we do. It’s our privilege to walk alongside you in your healthcare journey, and we remain committed to delivering compassionate, personalized care that goes beyond treatment—care that uplifts, supports, and empowers.
To Our Team:
Caring is more than a profession—it’s a calling. Around the clock, our staff shows up with heart, skill, and unwavering dedication. You create spaces where patients feel seen, heard, and valued. Your work is the heartbeat of our hospital.
Looking Back, Moving Forward:
Over the past year, the new hospital construction project has achieved remarkable milestones. We’ve completed the foundation and structural framework, installed electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, and finished both the interior and exterior. As we eagerly anticipate the grand opening in Spring 2026, we look forward to delivering exceptional and expanded healthcare services to our communities.
Our outpatient specialty services continue to grow, now featuring 31 specialists across 18 disciplines. We have welcomed several outstanding providers, including:
- Cardiologists: Dr. Ala’eldin Ababneh
- Dermatologist: Amy Horner, PA
- Gynecologist: Dr. Beena Green
- Pulmonologist: Dr. Gayln Perry
- Emergency Medicine: Dr. Brian Spinks
HCCH welcomed Missouri Physician Partners (MPP) as the new physician group leading our Emergency Department. This exciting transition marks a significant step forward in enhancing emergency medical services for Harrison County. The Emergency Department will now feature a rotation of 17 experienced physicians, including HCCH’s own Dr. Bret Heilson and Dr. Brian Spinks. Each provider from MPP is trained in emergency medicine or holds an emergency medicine certification, ensuring patients receive expert care when it matters most.
At HCCH Medical Clinic, innovation is thriving. New programs like the Weight Management and Wellness Program, Pediatric Awareness Wellness Services (PAWS), and local Obstetric Care (in partnership with North Kansas City Hospital) are already making a difference. Over 322 patients are enrolled in our wellness program, 32 mothers have received prenatal care locally through our OB partnership with North Kansas City Hospital, and more than 90 autism evaluations have been completed.
By the Numbers:
- 1,200+ patients served weekly
- $36M in annual net revenue
- 240+ local jobs supported
- $19M+ in salaries and benefits
- $1.1M in capital investments in FY2024
Community Impact:
Through the 340B program, we help ensure affordable access to prescriptions at local pharmacies. Our team also gives back in meaningful ways—providing Thanksgiving meals, supplying local school nurses’ office supplies, free sports physicals, and countless volunteer hours. The HCCH Foundation awarded over $20,000 in scholarships and raised $10,390.00 through the Miles for Miles Cancer Walk.

As we celebrate this special week, we extend heartfelt thanks to every member of the HCCH family and our broader community. Your support, compassion, and commitment fuel our mission and shape our future.
Happy Hospital Week 2025!
With appreciation,
The Board of Directors, Medical Staff, and Employees of Harrison County Community Hospital
