HCCH Expands Rural Care: Pattonsburg Clinic to Open August 2025
Harrison County Community Hospital (HCCH) has announced a revised timeline for the opening of its new Rural Health Clinic (RHC) in Pattonsburg, Missouri. Originally slated to open in July, the clinic is now expected to begin serving patients in August 2025 due to necessary cosmetic updates and completion of regulatory processes.
As of June 1, 2025, HCCH entered into a lease agreement for the Pattonsburg facility. The clinic is part of HCCH’s ongoing commitment to expanding access to quality healthcare in rural communities. We are currently working to meet the necessary insurance credentialing and Rural Health Clinic (RHC) requirements for opening a new clinic. This ensures compliance with the rigorous standards set by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
Becoming a certified Rural Health Clinic (RHC) is a comprehensive, multi-step process that inherently involves several time-consuming stages, which contribute to the overall delay. The process begins with obtaining a National Provider Identifier (NPI), followed by the submission of the RHC application. After receiving Medicare approval, the clinic must then schedule and undergo an onsite survey conducted by an accreditation organization. Only after successfully completing this survey is the clinic issued a CMS Certification Number (CCN), officially designating it as a certified RHC. Each of these steps is essential and sequential and may cause delays at any stage.
The clinic will be staffed by a dedicated team of providers, including Dr. Kim Baker, who will divide her time between the Bethany and Pattonsburg locations. Joining her is Maddie Schulte, FNP, a recent addition to the HCCH Medical Clinic team, who will serve as a primary provider at the Pattonsburg location.
“We’re eager to bring healthcare services to Pattonsburg and appreciate the community’s patience as we navigate the necessary steps to ensure compliance and quality,” said Tina Gillespie, CEO at HCCH. “Our goal is to open as soon as possible while maintaining the high standards our patients expect.”
