These caring, dedicated therapists, nurses, and administrative staff members work on the Senior Life Solutions program at Harrison County Community Hospital.
Aging brings many joys--grandchildren, more free time in retirement, and wisdom gained over the decades. But, at the same time, our older years can also bring the loss of loved ones, stresses of age-related health concerns, or diminished self-esteem.
Harrison County Community Hospital’s Senior Life Solutions program, an intensive, outpatient group counseling program for individuals over age 65, aims to provide assistance to people who are dealing with emotional or behavioral issues often related to aging. If you or someone you know suffers from any of the following, this program might be right for you.
- coping with loss
- decreased energy
- difficulty sleeping
- low self-confidence
Following an individual assessment, participants meet three times per week in a supportive, encouraging group setting. The program staff includes a board-certified psychiatrist, licensed social workers, a registered nurse, and other professionals dedicated to the emotional well being of the seniors in our community.
In 2014 HCCH's Senior Life Solutions program was named Program of the Year by Psychiatric Medical Care (PMC), a behavioral healthcare company headquartered in Knoxville, Tenn. HCCH partners with PMC to provide the innovate program. The program in Bethany was honored because it consistently provides outstanding patient care, has experienced impressive growth by earning trust from the local community, and complies with all regulatory requirements, according to J.R. Greene, CEO of Psychiatric Medical Care.
Family members, physicians, or other health professionals can refer individuals to the program.
